Katie Knutter is the Executive Director of Wellspring Health Access, bringing over a decade of hands-on leadership experience in reproductive health, clinic operations, and advocacy. She has served in critical roles across multiple states—including Oklahoma, Kansas, Michigan, Arkansas, and Wyoming—working at the intersections of direct care, political strategy, and health equity. Katie holds a Master of Public Service from the Clinton School of Public Service and a Master of Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. These academic foundations inform her systems-oriented approach to community engagement, healthcare delivery, and policy advocacy.

Katie’s path to Executive Director began with her role as Chief Operations Officer at Wellspring Health Access, where she led clinical compliance, managed reporting and budgets, and helped build out internal infrastructure. Now in her executive leadership role, she oversees operations across all clinic sites, manages organizational finances, supports strategic expansion efforts, and ensures high-quality service delivery in line with Wellspring’s mission. She also supports the President’s fundraising and partnership development efforts. Her previous roles have spanned clinic director, senior health center manager, and director of advocacy and communications—positions in which she has trained large teams, managed compliance under complex state regulations, and spearheaded public campaigns to advance reproductive justice. Katie has also raised and managed significant grant funding, led grassroots voter engagement efforts, and crafted communications strategies at both local and national levels. With a leadership style grounded in compassion, rigor, and collaboration, Katie is positioned to guide Burkhart Ventures through its Grand Junction, CO clinic launch—ensuring reproductive healthcare remains accessible, equitable, and community-centered.
